Georgia Vent Works is proud to announce we are now offering exhaust fan service, repair and installation for restaurants and facilities throughout the Atlanta metro area.
The Exhaust Fan Service Division is the result of numerous requests from existing Georgia Vent Works customers, many of whom have expressed frustration in finding competent technicians to service their exhaust fans.
In response, Georgia Vent Works has created an in-house training academy for our technicians to gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting many of the common problems associated with restaurant exhaust fans.
Services offered include replacing fan belts, adjusting fan belt pulleys, lubricating and/or replacing bearings, motor changes, fan blade rebalancing and entire fan replacement. As in the past, Georgia Vent Works also offers a full line of exhaust fan accessories, including grease containment systems and hinge kits.
Signs that your exhaust fan may require service include: noisy fan, excessive shaking or rattling, decreased airflow in kitchen, excessive heat and/or smoke in the cooking area.
Keeping your exhaust fan in proper working condition will prolong its life, improve conditions in the kitchen and help prevent costly future repairs.
And don’t forget, a properly functioning exhaust fan doesn’t just make your kitchen more comfortable, it’s a critical component in protecting your property in the event of a fire.

We follow The Grease Police Photo Procedure taking digital pictures of all services performed and keeping them on file for your, your insurance company, or your local inspector’s reference. GreasePro’s specialized hot water cleaning equipment and special blend of degreasers allow for the most thorough restaurant exhaust hood system cleaning. If there are any problem areas or system discrepancies pictures are taken it is noted on a report that is provided at every service. Your restaurant exhaust hood system should not be a mystery, and the restaurant exhaust hood system cleaning should not either.
Restaurants and other commercial eating establishments are sometimes unaware of the hazards that hide above ceiling tiles and on their rooftops. Greasy kitchen hoods are not just an eyesore, but also a fire hazard. The purpose of hiring a professional restaurant exhaust hood system cleaning company, or “hood cleaner”, should not be discounted as merely a cosmetic service. If a hood cleaner is not cleaning the entire restaurant hood exhaust ventilation system then they are leaving a major risk of fire loss behind. GreasePro is a CHDCA Certified restaurant exhaust hood system cleaning company, that delivers a full hood system cleaning top to bottom at every scheduled service, offers rooftop grease runoff containment solutions, and replaces worn out and broken hood baffle filters.

As a restaurant owner or manager this is one of the cleaning services that you do not want to skimp on. Neglecting this service can cost you not only your hard earned money, but your restaurant entirely!
What service am I talking about? –Kitchen hood exhaust cleaning– Having your kitchen hood system properly cleaned and serviced according to the NFPA #96 standards is essential for
* Maintaining proper airflow in your kitchen
* Keeping the fire marshal off your back
* Staying compliant with local fire codes
* Providing a safe working and dining environment for your employees and patrons.
* Reducing the possibility of a devastating fire spreading through duct work and onto the roof.
Hood Cleaning (or hood vent cleaning) should be done by a “properly trained, qualified, and certified company” according to NFPA #96 guidelines 8-3.1. Some restaurant owners like to go with the lowest bid in an attempt to save money.
Usually what happens is the cleaning contractor will only clean what is easily seen or reached from the ground. This is NOT acceptable! The grease will collect and become an extreme fire danger. It will also restrict the flow of air and reduce the efficiency of your exhaust system, costing you money.
By the time you hire a reputable hood cleaning company, they are going to charge you more money due to the major build up of grease that has to be removed. So, my advice would be to hire a kitchen exhaust cleaning company that will clean your entire system from top to bottom the first time and every other time.
It will save you money in the long run. It will save you headaches from hassling with fire marshals, health inspectors and insurance companies. Check their work after they have cleaned, or ask for pictures to hold them accountable. Restaurant fires are serious business, and they are a very real threat if your kitchen exhaust system has not been cleaned properly.
Does it seem like your exhaust hood is not working properly? Is smoke staying in your kitchen? Are your chefs complaining because is is too hot in the kitchen?
Maybe it is because the kitchen lacks make up air. Make up air is the air needed to replace the air being pulled out of your restaurant kitchen by your exhaust fan. Without it your fan motor is overworked and you have poor kitchen air conditions.
ideal kitchen exhaust system setup
The system above has an exhaust fan pulling the air out of the kitchen at the same time the cooler is replacing it with fresh air. This set up not only allows air to be pulled out by the exhaust fan but actually helps PUSH the air out. The two fans (the cooler fan and exhaust fan) work together to produce the best condition for the kitchen air and the least strain on fan motors, keeping costly repairs to a minimum.
inefficient kitchen exhaust system setup
This second set up works but is inefficient. There is no air being pushed in to the kitchen, it is only drawn in by the fan, which makes your fan work twice as hard, and will not cool your kitchen the way it should.
wrong kitchen exhaust system setup
This third setup will is almost useless. No make up air being drawn in to the kitchen at all, and the fan working very hard to get any hot air out of the kitchen at all.
In order to have a cooler restaurant kitchen, you must have the same amount of air being pushed in by a swamp cooler as you have being pulled out by your restaurant exhaust fan. Once your restaurant kitchen set up this way, you will notice a much nicer environment to work in, and your chefs and kitchen staff will be much happier and more productive.

Their servicemen are required to document each cleaning with photos, and if the job is not done properly, they must return at no charge to the customer. “No other kitchen exhaust cleaning company in Los Angeles can make this claim.” Scott says.
Kitchen exhaust hood cleaning is not all they do. With a repair department that rivals much bigger companies, Bryan Exhaust is able to handle any deficiencies a customer may have, and keep their exhaust systems in compliance with NFPA 96 and local fire codes.
Andrew Bryan, Director of Compliance at Bryan Exhaust, talks about handling kitchen exhaust system deficiencies. “My sole responsibility at Bryan Exhaust is to make sure our customers’ exhaust systems are NFPA 96 compliant. We want them to have the piece of mind that if a fire does occur in their kitchen it will not spread to their exhaust system and cause damage to the building.”
The goal of Bryan Exhaust is to ensure each one of their customers is safe from any fire that may occur in their kitchen. “When I started this company 30 years ago, there was no exhaust hood cleaning company in Los Angeles that was doing it the right way, getting restaurant kitchen hood systems cleaned the way they are supposed to be.” proclaims Ed Bryan, CEO of Bryan Exhaust “And now, as far as I am concerned, there is one company that does it right, and that’s mine.”
